Why tell someone about your secret spot? Won’t a crowd ruin the trails you love?
I wrestled with these questions for a while. And at first, I couldn't find a good enough answer. But in the last few months, I think I’ve stumbled on a few.
1.) Being outside stirs life in us. A hike or ride is something stress and worry can’t touch—only fuel. That being said, I think giving someone life in exchange for their worry, is worth me sharing my trails.
2.) I’ve been to crowded ski resorts and crowded lakes, but it’s hard to find a “crowded” trail. What I find on trails is community. People ask about your hike or make some b.s. comment about the weather. But under their words, they’re really saying, “You love this too. I like you. Enjoy friend.” This kind of community is something we should spread.
